Villa San Francisco is a project of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States and co-produced with the Consulate General of France in San Francisco and the French American Cultural Society with the support of Institut Français in Paris. Interested artists are invited to submit an application by Sunday, May 9 at 11:59pm to [emailprotected] with the subject line: 'Artist in Residence Villa SF - [First Name, Last Name]', and include the following information: Contact Information (Full Name, Mailing Address, Phone Number, Email Address) and Resume (a one-page resume describing academic, artistic, professional, and other relevant experience) Bio and Artistic Statement (a 100-word artist biography and a 100-word summary of a proposed VIP project piece. These summaries will be used as a narrative for administrative and public use) Statement of Intent (a one-page statement of intent explaining why you are interested in this program) Resource Request (outline of all facility needs--running water, power outlets, tables and chairs, etc.) Portfolio (five samples of your artistic work) ~~~~~~~ Experience art like never before - lose yourself in 300,000 cubic feet of flawless projections animating Vincent van Gogh's oeuvre. Wander through entrancing, moving images that highlight brushstrokes, detail, and color - truly illuminating the mind of the genius.
You will be immersed in Van Gogh's works - from his sunny landscapes and night scenes to his portraits and still life paintings. The installation includes the Mangeurs de pommes de terre (The Potato Eaters, 1885), the Nuit étoilée (Starry Night, 1889), Les Tournesols (Sunflowers, 1888), and La Chambre à coucher (The Bedroom, 1889), and so much more.

The exhibit is designed and conceived by Massimiliano Siccardi, with soundtrack by Luca Longobardi, both of whom pioneered immersive digital art experiences in France with Atelier des Lumières.
This exhibition contains sequences of bright flashing lights which may affect visitors who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy, as well as others who are sensitive to moving lights. Viewer discretion is advised.
Ticket prices start at $39.99 ($24.99 for children 16 or younger), with VIP, timed, and flexible ticket options available.
